Have you ever spent hours organizing a room, only to feel like it became messy again a few days later?
You're not alone.
Many organizing systems focus on where to put things before taking the time to understand how you actually use your space. At Organize it. & Bloom, I believe lasting organization starts with intention.
That's why I developed The BloomPrint™ Organizing Method—a simple framework designed to help you create spaces that are functional, personalized, and easy to maintain.
What Is the BloomPrint™ Organizing Method?
The BloomPrint™ Organizing Method is built on one simple idea:
Before you organize your belongings, create a blueprint for how you want the space to function.
Instead of immediately buying storage bins or rearranging shelves, we take a step back and ask:
What is this room's purpose?
How do I want to feel when I'm in this space?
What activities happen here?
What truly belongs in this room?
When you begin with a vision, every organizing decision becomes easier.
Step 1: Create Your BloomPrint
Every successful project starts with a plan.
I begin by creating a simple "BloomPrint"—a blueprint of the space. Sometimes I sketch it on paper, and other times I visualize it mentally.
Next, I divide the room into functional zones based on how it will be used.
For example, a bedroom might include:
Clothing Zone
Sleep Zone
Reading Zone
Self-Care Zone
Keepsake Zone
Every zone has a purpose, making it easier to decide where things belong.
Step 2: Clear the Space
Before organizing, remove anything that doesn't belong in the room.
This includes:
Trash
Laundry that belongs elsewhere
Dishes
Paperwork
Toys or belongings from other rooms
Removing visual clutter first helps you focus on the items that actually belong in the space.
Step 3: Organize by Zone
Now that only the room's belongings remain, group similar items together.
Ask yourself:
Which zone makes the most sense for this item?
Instead of organizing by furniture, organize by function.
This creates a home that feels intuitive because it matches the way you naturally live.
Step 4: Declutter with the Right Strategy
There isn't one perfect decluttering method for everyone.
Depending on the client and the situation, I may incorporate different evidence-based techniques, such as:
The Four-Sort Method
Garbage Bag Therapy (developed by professional organizer Cassandra Aarssen of Clutterbug)
The Easter Egg Hunt (also taught by Cassandra Aarssen)
The Spark Joy Method (popularized by Marie Kondo)
The goal isn't to force one system on everyone—it's to choose the strategy that best fits your personality, energy level, and goals.
Step 5: Give Everything a Home
Once you've decided what to keep, every item should have a permanent home within its zone.
When everything has a designated place, maintaining your home becomes much easier because you always know where things belong.
Why the BloomPrint™ Method Works?
Many people think organization is about buying containers.
I believe it's about creating systems that support your everyday life.
The BloomPrint™ Organizing Method helps you:
Reduce decision fatigue.
Create spaces that are functional.
Make tidying faster and easier.
Build systems you can realistically maintain.
Organize in a way that fits your lifestyle—not someone else's.
Organization Should Work for You
There is no one-size-fits-all organizing system.
Every home is different. Every family is different. Every brain is different.
That's why the BloomPrint™ Organizing Method focuses on creating intentional spaces first and choosing organizing strategies that fit your unique needs.
My goal isn't to help you create a picture-perfect home.
My goal is to help you create a home that supports your life, reduces stress, and gives you more time for the people and things you love.
If you're ready to stop feeling overwhelmed and start creating systems that actually last, I'd love to help.
Together, we'll create a BloomPrint for your home—one space at a time.
